| Wieder mal ein Black-Thrash-Death-Metal-Produkt aus dem Hause Black Attakk, wobei ich die Betonung mehr auf Death Metal lege. Bei diesem Debüt wird ein Fundament aus Black Metal aufgebaut und mit Death-Thrash-Einlagen zusammen gefügt. Sehr melodisch geht es bei der „To the seven“ zu. Die Gitarren rasen mit einer sehr hohen Geschwindigkeit über das ganze Album hinweg und verlieren dabei nie ihre Spur zu einprägenden Melodien, die sich schnell im Hirn festsetzen. Gelegentlich wird zwar eine kurze Rast in langsamen Passagen eingelegt, die aber eigentlich nur zum auftanken benötigt werden. Schon recht erstaunlich, wie die Würzburger bei ihrem ersten Longplayer zur Sache gehen. Nur leider ist die Produktion nicht gerade die fetteste, deswegen gehen die Snaredrums etwas im Gesamtspektrum unter, was aber weiter hin nicht ganz so schlimm ist, da das Schlagzeug nicht immer ganz so tight eingespielt wurde. Endlich mal wieder eine Band, die ein schnelles melodisches Brett abliefert und dabei gänzlich auf ein Keyboard verzichtet. Das Gefällt!

South Of Heaven Open Air focuses on a rock-solid program (internationally celebrated metal veterans as headliners, plus new talent), an old-school great metal atmosphere (intimate and authentic; metal fans among themselves), a conveniently accessible and atmospheric top location, Burgundian enjoyment (delicious food and drink), and a relatively low ticket price (€125 for an Early Bird combo ticket).
Despite the crowded Dutch event calendar, South Of Heaven Open Air is a welcome addition because this festival primarily focuses on music, an excellent atmosphere, and haute cuisine food & drink, instead of pretentious sidelines like science, politics, literature, interactive art, and abstract theater.
