| Das Album "Get Well Soon" der amerikanischen Band LO-PAN überzeugt durch einen schleppenden, kraftvollen Sound, der eine faszinierende Melange aus Stoner Rock und Hard Rock bietet. Der charismatische Gesang erinnert an eine Mischung aus A Perfect Circle, Mastodon, Red Fang und den Stone Temple Pilots, mit einem Hauch von Alice In Chains. Diese Kombination verleiht den Songs eine düstere, doch hypnotische Atmosphäre.
Obwohl viele Merkmale des Albums im Stoner Rock verwurzelt sind, würde ich die Band eher im Bereich des Hard Rock ansiedeln. Besonders live konnte LO-PAN bereits neben Größen wie High On Fire, Torche und Red Fang überzeugen – ein Beweis für ihre Energie und Bühnenpräsenz.
Highlights wie "Northern Eyes", "Ozymandias" oder das verträumte "Six Bells" zeigen die Band in Bestform: kraftvoll, atmosphärisch und eingängig. Wer auf charismatischen Rock mit Grunge- und leichten Stoner-Einschlägen steht, sollte sich dieses Album definitiv anhören.

South Of Heaven Open Air focuses on a rock-solid program (internationally celebrated metal veterans as headliners, plus new talent), an old-school great metal atmosphere (intimate and authentic; metal fans among themselves), a conveniently accessible and atmospheric top location, Burgundian enjoyment (delicious food and drink), and a relatively low ticket price (€125 for an Early Bird combo ticket).
Despite the crowded Dutch event calendar, South Of Heaven Open Air is a welcome addition because this festival primarily focuses on music, an excellent atmosphere, and haute cuisine food & drink, instead of pretentious sidelines like science, politics, literature, interactive art, and abstract theater.
